Denial of service vulnerability in PostgreSQL via a CASE expression and inlining of an SQL functionID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:38565 | Date: (C)2016-12-26 (M)2022-10-10 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: windows |
The host is installed with PostgreSQL before 9.1.23, 9.2.x before 9.2.18, 9.3.x before 9.3.14, 9.4.x before 9.4.9, or 9.5.x before 9.5.4 and is prone to a denial of service vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to handle a CASE expression or inlining of an SQL function. Successful exploitation allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and server crash), obtain sensitive memory information, or possibly execute arbitrary code.
