Unprotected primary channel vulnerability in Node.js - CVE-2018-12120ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:96749 | Date: (C)2024-01-12 (M)2024-01-12 |
Class: VULNERABILITY | Family: windows |
The host is installed with Node.js 6.x before 6.15.0 and is prone to an unprotected primary channel vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application which fails to handle an issue when the debugger is enabled with node --debug or node debug. Successful exploitation allows an attacker to cause the remote computers to attach to the debug port and evaluate arbitrary JavaScript, when it listens to port 5858 on all interfaces by default.
