The host is installed with Wireshark 3.6.x before 3.6.15 or 4.0.x before 4.0.7 and is prone to a denial of service vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to properly handle the issue in Kafka dissector. Successful exploitation allows attackers to crash Wireshark by injecting a malformed packet onto the wire or by convincing someone to read a malformed packet trace file.
