The host is installed with Symantec Endpoint Protection Client 11.x or 12.x before 12.1 RU4 MP1b and is prone to a buffer overflow vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to properly handle an issue in sysplant driver. Successful exploitation allows an attacker to cause a BSOD on the client or possibly allow unauthorized local privilege elevation on Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) clients.
