The host is installed with VMWare Tools 11.x before 11.2.6 or VMware Remote Console 12.x before 12.0.1 and is prone to a local privilege escalation vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to properly validate openssl.cnf file. On successful exploitation, attackers can execute code with elevated privileges by placing a malicious file renamed as 'openssl.cnf' in an unrestricted directory.
