The host is installed with Git before 2.17.4, 2.26.0 before 2.26.1, 2.25.0 before 2.25.3, 2.24.0 before 2.24.2, 2.23.0 before 2.23.2, 2.22.0 before 2.22.3, 2.21.0 before 2.21.2, 2.20.0 before 2.20.3, 2.19.0 before 2.19.4 or 2.18.0 before 2.18.3 and is prone to an improper input validation vulnerability. A flaw is present in the application, which fails to handle the specially-crafted URLs that contain an encoded newline. Successful exploitation can trick Git to send private credentials to a host controlled by an attacker.
