Microsoft Windows Unicode Scripts Processor remote code execution vulnerability - MS10-063ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:2040 | Date: (C)2011-08-24 (M)2024-02-29 |
Class: PATCH | Family: windows |
The host is missing a critical security update according to Microsoft security bulletin, MS10-063. The update is required to fix code execution vulnerability. A flaw is present in the Unicode Script Processor implementation in USP10.DLL in Microsoft Windows, which is due to two array-indexing errors within the "GetCmapFontPagesPresent()" and "LoadCmapFontGlyphs()" functions while parsing groups in a CMAP format 12 table in an OpenType font. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.
