Layer-2 priority value: Best effort service type

ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:18988Date: (C)2014-05-29   (M)2023-07-04
Class: COMPLIANCEFamily: windows

The Best effort service type link layer (Layer-2) priority value should be configured correctly. Specifies an alternate link layer (Layer-2) priority value for packets with the Best Effort service type (ServiceTypeBestEffort). The Packet Scheduler inserts the corresponding priority value in the Layer-2 header of the packets. If you enable this setting, you can change the default priority value associated with the Best Effort service type. If you disable this setting, the system uses the default priority value of 0. Fix: (1) GPO: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\QoS Packet Scheduler\Layer-2 priority value\Best effort service type (2) KEY: HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Psched\UserPriorityMapping\ServiceTypeBestEffort
