Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts

ID: oval:org.secpod.oval:def:8711Date: (C)2013-01-21   (M)2023-07-14
Class: COMPLIANCEFamily: windows

The Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts setting should be configured correctly. This policy setting controls the ability of anonymous users to enumerate the accounts in the Security Accounts Manager (SAM). If you enable this policy setting, users with anonymous connections cannot enumerate domain account user names on the workstations in your environment. This policy setting also allows additional restrictions on anonymous connections. Fix: (1) GPO: Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts (2) KEY: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\RestrictAnonymousSAM
